How Many Years Can WP Work in Singapore?

Skill level of the licensee
R2 Basic Skilled: Junior Worker
R1 Higher Skilled: Skilled worker (usually with college degree or above, or participated in some skill improvement courses in the industry, and can be certified as R1 worker)
PRC: Workers in Mainland China
Malaysian: Malaysian workers
NAS (North Asian sources): workers in Hong Kong, Macao, South Korea and Taiwan
NTS (Non traditional sources): workers in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Philippines
Working years of WP in construction industry, processing industry and maritime shipbuilding industry
1. For WP holders from the mainland of China who are engaged in construction, processing and maritime shipbuilding, the maximum working years of R2 primary workers are 14 years, and the maximum working years of R1 skilled workers are 26 years.
2. For WP holders from Malaysia, there is no maximum length of service.
3. The maximum working age of all WPs is 60 years old.
Working Years of WP in Manufacturing Industry and Service industry
1. For WP holders from the mainland of China who are engaged in service and manufacturing industries, the maximum working years of R2 primary workers are 14 years, and the maximum working years of R1 skilled workers are 22 years.
2. Malaysian WP holders have no maximum length of service.
3. The maximum working age of all WPs is 60 years old.

1. The minimum age for applying for WP is 18 years old.
2. Maximum age limit for applying for WP: The maximum age for Malaysia to apply for a permit is 58 years old, and the maximum age for non Malaysian to apply for a permit is 50 years old.
