One of the crucial steps for foreigners registering a company in Singapore is to register an address with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). This address plays a significant role in the company's operations. When registering a company with ACRA, the following address must be provided:

1. Business Address
2. Registered Office Address
3. Residential Address
4. Personal Address
5. Contact Address

Operating Address

The so-called operational address refers to the place where a business conducts its operations. For example, in the retail and catering industries, there may be more than one operational address. Obviously, such addresses are store addresses.

Registered Office Address

The registered office address refers to the place where any communications and notices from the company can be processed, as well as where the company's registration and all business management records are kept. The registered office must operate and be open to the public during normal business hours, and it can be different from the company's operational address.

Residential Address

All owners and executives of companies registered in Singapore must provide their residential addresses to ACRA at the time of company registration. This address information may be disclosed in relevant business information.

Personal Address and Contact Address

In July 2024, Singapore also passed an amendment to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Enhanced Registration and Regulation) Act, which stipulates that, in future, companies must provide their personal residential and contact addresses when registering.

1) The contact address must be reachable by mail, such as an office.

2) ACRA will only disclose the contact address, not the personal residential address.

3) Once the address is made public, individuals are not allowed to provide other contact addresses within three years.

4) An individual may choose to fill in their personal address as the contact address.

5) In case of failure to contact, the authorities have the right to disclose the individual's residential address in accordance with the law.
