Document Checklist for Singapore Citizenship

In Singapore, applying for citizenship is now done online. So, what documents need to be prepared in advance before applying? What are the specific requirements for the materials? And whether translation notarization is needed, let's interpret it together today.



The Precautions


1. In addition to the applicant, the sponsor/spouse also needs to prepare some materials, even if they do not apply themselves;

2. ICA may contact the main applicant/ sponsor for other supporting documents that are not listed above when making an assessment on your application;

3. All documents that need to be submitted, if they are not in English, must be translated and notarized.



Personal


1) Passport-sized photo

2) Passport/ travel document (only for documents not issued by ICA)

3) Birth certificate/ household register (only for births not registered in Singapore)

4) Adoption papers(only for minor and parent applicants)

5) Marriage certificate (only for marriages not registered in Singapore)

6) Separation deed

7) Deed poll or religious certificate for change of name



Family


1) Divorce certificates including certificate of Making Interim Judgment Final

2) Death certificate of spouse/ children from previous marriage(s) (only for deaths not registered in Singapore)

3) Letter of consent from ex-spouse (for minor applicants under joint custody)

4) Custody papers for children from previous marriage(s)



Education


PS.Non- applying Spouse is required.


1) Educational certificate(s) and transcripts

2) Skill certificate(s)/ professional license(s)

3) Membership certificate(s)



Employment


PS.Non- applying Spouse/ Sponsor is required.


1) Letter of employment from current employer, dated no more than 3 months from the date your online application, stating occupation, date of employment, basic and gross salary per month


2) Pay slips from the last 6 months


3) Latest 3 years' Income tax assessment/ receipts (only if working overseas)


4)  For self-employed,

• Latest Business Registration Certificate from the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)

• Latest 3 years’ balance sheets

• Latest 3 years' profit and loss statements



Other


1) National Service certificate of service

2) National Service transcript

3) National Service testimonial



Additional: For Aged Parent Applications


PS. Non-applying children are required too.


1) Birth certificate/ household register (only for births not registered in Singapore)

2) Latest Income tax assessment/ receipt (only if working overseas)

3) Latest 1 month pay slip
