2026 Updated Version! Guide to Singapore PEP (Personalised Employment Pass): Application Criteria, Bringing Family Members & PR Application
The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) is issued by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for overseas skilled professionals. It delivers greater employment flexibility compared with other work passes, highlighted as follows:
No fixed job position restrictions; holders can work across different departments within a company (relevant professional certificates are mandatory for regulated special industries).
There is no need to submit a new pass application upon job changes during the validity period of the PEP; only a notification to MOM is required.
PEP holders are permitted to stay in Singapore for up to 6 months without employment to secure new job opportunities.
Undoubtedly, the PEP boasts outstanding privileges among all Singapore work passes, yet it comes with stringent application prerequisites.
PEP Application Requirements
Minimum monthly salary requirement: S$22,500 (applicable to both local and overseas applicants).
Important Note: PEP holders are prohibited from conducting commercial or business activities in Singapore. Those intending to run a business must apply for an EntrePass instead.
Dependant Pass (DP) & Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for Family Members
1. Dependant Pass (DP)
a. Eligible for legally wedded spouses
b. Eligible for unmarried children under 21 years old2. Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP)
b. Eligible for unmarried disabled children aged above 21
c. Eligible for unmarried stepchildren under 21 years old
d. Eligible for the applicant’s parents
Pass Validity Period
A PEP is valid for a maximum of 3 years and is non-renewable upon expiry.
Application for Permanent Residence (PR)
PEP holders are qualified to apply for Singapore PR directly.
