Driving Test Fees to Rise in Singapore
2026-10-27
The Singapore Traffic Police has announced a phased increase in theory and practical driving test fees, citing rising operational costs. The increases will take place gradually over the next two years rather than all at once.
Theory Test Fees
- Basic Theory Test, Final Theory Test and Motorcycle Riding Theory Test fees have been raised from S$6.50 to S$7.20 with immediate effect, and will increase to S$8.00 on 13 March 2027.
Practical and Road Test Fees
- Motorcycle and car practical tests, as well as the Proficiency Driving Test, have risen from S$33 to S$40 with immediate effect, and will increase to S$45 on 13 March 2027, and to S$50 on 13 March 2028.
Holders of Class 3C and 3CA licences whose employers have submitted a support declaration may now book their practical test. Road assessment tests are priced the same as driving tests at S$40, and will follow the same phased adjustments. Vehicle rental and driving school administrative fees are separate.
