Introduction
Tanglin Trust School (TTS) is a non-profit British school based in Singapore and was founded in 1925. Currently, it has 2,800 students representing over 50 nationalities and provides a unique learning environment for children from Nursery right through to Sixth Form. As a not-for-profit school, tuition fees are devoted to the provision of an outstanding education.
Teaching Environment and Facilities
TTS provides a few education levels to the student: (i) Infant school (age 3-7); (ii) Junior School (age 7-11); (iii) Middle School (age 11-14); (iv) Upper School (age 14-16); (v) Sixth Form (age 16-18). Each school has its separate campus and facilities. TTS has a unique house system similar to the magic school in Harry Potter. Each education level will be divided and joined into different house names – Claymore, Cameron, Raeburn, Alexandra, Weyhill, Wessex, Winchester, and Portsdown. The students can accumulate the point of their houses through participation in extracurricular activities, or excellent academic performance. Each house has its charity fund.
The school has a pastoral care plan to provide assistance for daily teaching, and professional consultants and medical staff among the teaching staff. In addition, the school also provides school bus service covering almost the whole of Singapore.
The school provides world-class teaching facilities. In addition to bright public areas, the school buildings also have large multi-purpose conference halls, sports halls, music rooms, and other indoor facilities, as well as drama studios and science laboratories. Each of the four campuses has a health center with professional nurses. Curriculum
TTS provides British education for students from nursery to grade 13 and uses British national standard textbooks in class. Moreover, it also provides I/GCSE courses for students in grades 10 and 11. In the Sixth Form stage, students can choose to continue A-level courses or IB courses.
