Phased Implementation Timeline
IRAS has introduced a three-phase rollout to help businesses adapt to the new digital invoicing standard smoothly:
- 1 May 2025: All existing GST-registered businesses may voluntarily adopt and trial the InvoiceNow system.
- 1 November 2025: Newly incorporated GST-registered companies (established within six months prior to GST registration) are eligible for voluntary adoption.
- 1 April 2026: Mandatory enforcement for all newly GST-registered businesses. InvoiceNow usage becomes a compulsory compliance requirement.

The latest IRAS official guidelines have revised the data submission scope for electronic invoices. Under the new regulations, certain invoice particulars are mandatory for submission, while other categories are exempted from reporting to IRAS.
GST-registered businesses must strictly distinguish between required and exempt data to avoid compliance violations, reporting errors and potential regulatory penalties.
